Tarot Cards have remained an unconscious map of my existence for as long as I can recall. They have guided me through emotional turbulence and reinforced/recognized characteristics of situations, people and the upcoming future. Hence, I wasn’t surprised to come across in my journey of spiritual learning that the Tarot can do it all– these cards reveal the core formation of our inner and outer selves; helping us understand our functioning and development (Our Purpose). How?!
Via your ‘identity cards’- we find out who you are in the Tarot (& in life).
Your birth card, current year card, astrology card, familiar and unfamiliar card make up the ‘identity cards’. This can be used in a spread to have an in-depth reading about your existence, purpose and planning. However in this particular post we are going to focus on finding out your birth card. This card primarily speaks of our karma for this lifetime. “Shows your path in this lifetime, with suggestions as to both strengths and weaknesses.” The birth card is your essence, your gifts and your soul’s purpose in life.
Calculating Your Birth Card
We make this calculation with the possibilities of your birth card number ranging from 1-21 of the Major Arcana represented in the Tarot. Your birth card number is also sometimes similar as your birth number. You add your birth date, month and year together. For example (Me): 21 + 9 + 1992 = 2022. Now, you further add the digits to achieve the possible number between 1-21 of the Major Arcana. For example (Me): 2 + 0 + 2 + 2 = 6. Therefore my birth card is represented by the number six in the Tarot making it The Lovers.
The Lovers: Birth Card Analysis
The figures in this card suggest youth, love, virginity and innocence. This is a card of human love. The person with ‘The Lovers’ as a birth card makes decisions based on love, harmony, trust, sex, with spiritual inclination. When a woman (in our case) it suggest that she signifies that attraction towards the sensitive life which carries within it the idea of the ‘Fall of Man’ not by being a temptress but rather the working of a secret law of nature- where man is eventually tempted by the woman. “It is through her imputed lapse that man shall arise ultimately, and only by her can he complete himself.” The card is therefore in its way another intimation concerning the great mystery of womanhood. But the querent is likely to follow her heart and always land into the arms of a man who needs her.
