Welcome to Learning the Tarot – my course on how to read the Tarot Cards. The Tarot is a deck of 78 picture cards that have been used for centuries to reveal hidden truths. Many believe that the Tarot holds the answers to all questions of the universe. In the past few years, interest in the Tarot has grown tremendously and many people use the Tarot today to understand themselves and their situations from a third-eye perspective- blending your inner and outer realities to live life more creatively. It’s never too late to discover a powerful tool for personal growth and insight.
My main purpose in this course is to show you how to use the cards for yourself and to read professionally for others. The Tarot can help you understand yourself better and also teach you to tap into the energies of others and help yourself or any other in a dilemma. You do not have to have “psychic powers” to use the Tarot successfully. All you need is the willingness to honor and develop your natural intuition.

Learning the Tarot as a self-paced course is a series of 3-5 lessons that begin with the basics meanings and then move gradually into more detailed aspects of the Tarot. By being “self-paced”, this course moves with the speed of the learner and the time committed by the beginner. Lessons are mainly geared towards explaining and understand the symbolism and meanings behind the 78 cards. But learners will be provided useful ideas and techniques in the final sessions via spread readings and interpretations. For each lesson there are exercises and notes provided that reinforce the ideas presented.
The only real requirement for this course is a Tarot deck. If you don’t have a deck, read through my comments on buying your first deck. There are many choices but my course on Learning the Tarot is illustrated with the popular Rider-Waite deck. This is a good deck to start with because there are pictures on every card which helps when you are learning. You can buy Tarot decks in many places now-bookstores often carry them, and many internet sites offer a variety of tarot decks for sale.
Lesson One: History of the Tarot and the Major Arcana; Lesson Two: Understanding the Minor Arcana; Lesson Three: Tarot Deck Spreads and Interpretation
